1) Go to apachefriends.org and download the package you want. I recommend Basic package .exe 51 MB

2) Install XAMP

3)After this will appear XAMP Control panel, other way to launch Control panel is to click on xampp-control in C/xamp/xamp.

4) Launch web browser as mozilla firefox , and type http://localhost in address bar

5)Choose language

6) If you installed XAMPP successfully , then you should see something as below

Problems with XAMPP installation:

1) Apache Won’t Start

If you try to start apache from the control panel but it won’t start.If you get a green “running” notification from the control panel, but it only appears for a second then goes away. Then , there is an enormous chance that port 80 (and possibly 3306) is in use by something else. For example some software as skype or similar can cause this problem .

To fix it, press crtl+alt+delete , start task manager, and end process which which causes problems

2) Missing or insufficient write permissions

Because of missing or insufficient write permissions in “C:\Program Files”, I recommend to use alternate folder for XAMPP (“C:\xampp” or “C:\meinverzeichnis\xampp”).

3) You can’t start services with the Control Panel

You can’t start services with the Control Panel: You have installed Apache/MySQL in “C:\xampp” as Windows service. But you can’t start/stop the services with the “XAMPP Control Panel” or can’t uninstall them.
Solution: Use the service management console from Windows or disable UAC.

To disable the UAC, use the program “msconfig”. In “msconfig” go to “Tools”, select “disable user account control” and verify your selection. Now you must restart Windows. At the same place, you can enable the UAC again.

1. You must have:

• Broadband internet connection always on
• Windows on your computer

2. Create a folder on your disc , in this example I created a folder on E:\my server
3. Download apache_2.2.10-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi and install it, set parameters( for localhost type something like a myserver.com(doesn’t really matter), also type your email address in field “Administrator@ Email Address” ) as shown below, choose where you want to install it.

4..When you install Apache , go to directory where you installed it (p.e. “C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf”) , here you will find a httpd file.
Open that file with notepad.

After this will appear notepad with long and complicated code, don´t worry, you must change just 3 things.

5. In notepad file find #DocumentRoot “C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs” and replace with #DocumentRoot “E:\my server”. Also find #<Directory  “C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/htdocs” and replace with <Directory  “E:\my server”.  E:\my server is folder where you put files which will appear on your server. In this example I created that folder on local disc E:. You can create your folder in any other place, but then type that path here. Find #AllowOverride None and change to AllowOverride All.

After this, save file like httpd.conf.

6. Type in web addresses http://localhost/ or your IP Address, you should see something like this

Every files you put in folder , which we created in step 2 , will be shown on http://localhost/

Because by default it’s the port used for HTTP. Port forwarding actually means opening a tunnel through the router so that the router wouldn’t reject the connections that are trying to connect to it. How to port-forward? With every router it’s different. Here are the instructions for every one of them. You must also turn off you firewall.

How look Jinzora?

You must have:

* Broadband internet connection always on

* Web server with the PHP scripting language and MySQL database installed

In this example we´ll use Windows XP and WAMP server

How to set up Jinzora?

1. Turn off firewall, because it can block WAMP server. Download WAMP server from this link and install it. In the default, jinzora will install in C:\wamp\ directory. In my example jinzora is installed in C:\wamp\. Run your WAMP server.

2. Download Jinzora zip file from this link and extract into WAMP directory c:\wamp\www\

3.Type in web addresses http://localhost/ or your IP Address, you should see something like this

4. In this step we´ll secure MySQL database server with password.

Click on phpmyadmin under Tools

Click on Privileges

Check root user and edit it , if you have any other user , delete it.

In Change Password option, type your password and click go

5. In this step we´ll run Jinzora installation wizard. Go to http://localhost/ and click on jinzora2 under your Projects

Jinzora installation wizard include 8 steps. Step 6 is important, set Create database equal to true. In other steps just accept the defaults, or set how you like it.

6. Before you login in jinzora , you should delete Install folder C:\wamp\www\jinzora2\install. That is for security reasons.

7. Go to http://localhost/jinzora2/ , login and enjoy in your Internet jukebox Jinzora.

Go to DynDNS , there you can get one of the available DynDNS domain names, for free . On that site, you should create account.

After you created an account , log in , on the left sidebar you will see My Services, click it. Then go to Host Services, in Host Services click Add New Hostname.

When you click on Add new hostname , fields will appear where you must type the hostname like servername.gotdns.org, service type , IP address (How to check IP Address? Go to http://www.cmyip.com/, on that site you will see own IP addresses). Set parameters as shown below, just add
your own information .

There is one small problem, IP address will change every 24 hour. It is little difficult manually type every 24 hours IP address in your DynDNS account. Luckily there is application, called an update client. Update client will send updates to your account when your IP address changes.Download update client and install it. It looks like this

That is all.Type your domain name in web browser and enjoy in new domain for home server..

A short and free way to create an FTP server (File Transfer Protocol)? It’s actually a protocol which allows you to directly share files from one computer to another over the Internet. If your friend for example has limited space on your computer, he can upload all the files to the server and download them when he needs them.

1. First thing we need to do is to port-forward a port in the router we’re using. The port we need to forward is port number 21. Why? Because by default it’s the port used for FTP. Port forwarding actually means opening a tunnel through the router so that the router wouldn’t reject the connections that are trying to connect to it. How to port-forward? With every router it’s different. Here are the instructions for every one of them.

2. Now once the port is opened, we can create a server using free FTP clients. There are many free FTP clients, but the one we’re going to use is very simple and you don’t need to install it. It’s called CrossFTP. Just download it from here. Select the option shown below;

Once you clicked that, open the file. Select users. A list shown below will appear:

Click save and your FTP server is set. You can enter your server by typing in “ftp://YourLocalIPAddress:21″in the browser. To find out your local IP go to START>RUN>cmd. Here type in ipconfig. The IP address of your computer will appear. That’s your local IP. So if you’re entering the server from the inside, you enter your local IP. But if your entering your server from the outside, let’s say from your friends house you need to know the external IP. That’s step 3->

3. Now your server can be accessed from the outside. The only thing a person needs to know to enter the server is your IP. You can always find out your IP by visiting this site -> www.whatsmyip.org . To access your server from the outside, you need to type in “ftp://YourExternalIPAddress:21″ in your browser.

The problem occurs after a while when your router reboots and your IP address changes. You can always buy a static IP from your Internet Service Provider, but there’s a thing we can do for free is to create a free domain (a name,like a website), so that users of your server don’t need to know your IP, but just the name of the domain.
